A Productive Sprint and Exciting Updates

As we wrap up another action-packed week, I want to start by giving a massive shoutout to the team. Substantial work has been done—excellent effort, congrats, and thank you for your hard work. It's been an incredibly productive week, and your dedication is truly appreciated.

Product Launch and Initial Reception

This marks our first full week with the platform as a stable product publicly available. While we haven't seen a single download yet, let's stay positive—these things take time. Momentum builds slowly, and we're excited for what's ahead!

Community and Permissions Enhancements

We've completed the implementation of forum and document permissions, adding a layer of control and security to how members interact with the platform.

To further support our growing community:

  • New Moderator Member Type: We've introduced a dedicated Moderator role with permissions to edit and delete forum posts, ensuring quality and order in discussions.
  • Expert Member Permissions: Experts can now edit existing documents, fostering collaborative improvement.
  • Direct Document Editing: Admins and Experts gain access to a new edit button for seamless, direct modifications to documents right from the interface.

Menu Manager: Full Customization Control

The main menu is now entirely customizable, giving you greater flexibility. Key features include:

  • Visibility Settings: Configure items to be public, member-only, or admin-accessible.
  • Sort Order: Easily rearrange menu items to suit your workflow.
  • Enable/Disable Options: Toggle items on or off as needed.
  • Dropdown Menus: Build nested, organized sub-menus for better navigation.

Bug Fix: Member Badges Now Colour-coded

We identified and resolved a bug with member badges that were not displaying correctly. Now, badges show the proper color based on rank, enhancing visual clarity in the community.

PowerShell Server Tool Enhancements

For members utilizing our portable server setup, we've rolled out additional PowerShell support files to streamline operations:

  • Server Shutdown Script (kill.ps1): This allows you to cleanly shut down Caddy, MariaDB, and PHP processes all at once.
  • Diagnostic Tool (diag.ps1): Diagnose and troubleshoot issues within the server scripts effortlessly.

Workflow Automation: Auto-Commit Script

We've finalized the auto_commit.bat file, though it's not publicly released just yet. This script automates the commit, push, and pull processes—no fancy UI, just efficient execution in a matter of seconds.

You can check it out in action on our GitHub repository, where updates appear with a timestamp under "Auto-updated by auto-commit.bat." Why is this valuable? It drastically speeds up workflows; what once took 10 minutes of wrestling with tools like Visual Studio Code or GitHub Desktop, often riddled with errors, now completes in just 5 seconds.

Thank you once again for your continued support—we're just getting started and excited to keep innovating. Stay tuned, and feel free to reach out with feedback!
